Free ‘Local Deals’ Mobile Ads During National Small Business Month, May 2011

A Year of Free ‘Local Deals’ Advertising Through the ‘1st Friday Mobile’ iPhone App


PENSACOLA, FL— In celebration of National Small Business Month, online marketing provider Tip or Tap Marketing is offering one year of free ‘local deals’ mobile ads for small businesses across the nation through its new iPhone app, 1st Friday Mobile, a green location-based networking application that lets users explore, discover, build and connect their own map of businesses, cultural places, events and resources.  This new mobile application provides businesses and consumers the solution they need to connect and network from anywhere at any time.  The 1st Friday Mobile app delivers a green effect to networking by allowing mobile users to quickly see a list or map of businesses offering local deals close to them that match their cultural interest.  Once the user clicks on a local deal, options to call, email or get directions are available.  Additionally the user can add notes and comments about the local deal and share them on Facebook.


Throughout the month of May, businesses can sign up at http://1stFriday.mobi.  Detail instructions on signing up are available at http://www.firstfridaynetworking.com/?page_id=253.   One free ‘Local Deals’ ad per business is allowed during this promotion.  Additionally, businesses can earn an additional free month of advertising for each new small business referred or added to the app.  Up to 12 additional free advertising months can be awarded.


Nathalie Reshard, chief marketing officer for Tip or Tap Marketing, says that one of the company’s goals is to create 100,000 new local deals adds in May.  “Local deals ads attracts new customers and retains existing customers for local businesses by promoting local, often unique, products and services,” Reshard says.  “The fact that we’re offering a year of free advertising for companies during Small Business Month goes right to our mission to put small businesses on the map.”  According to the U.S. Small Business Administration (sba.gov), small businesses “create 60-80 percent of new jobs in the country, drive innovation, create 21st century jobs and increase U.S. competitiveness.”  Reshard says that increasing traffic to local stores and companies ensure that the US remains competitive in a quickly expanding global society.


The free ads for local deals begin May 1 and continue through May 31.  The iPhone app ‘1st Friday Mobile’ is available for free at the Apple App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/1st-friday-mobile-networking/id424159235?mt=8).  Android and other smart phones users can use the mobile website version of the app at http://1stFriday.mobi.  Sign up for the free ad at 1stFriday.mobi on your desktop or laptop computer and your companies information will immediately appear in the 1st Friday Mobile iPhone app and the mobile website.
